Last year three members of his group formed a group Nostrum for Vilnius Jazz Young Power competition. Nostrum reached the finals, and this year they enlarged the group to a sextet. But due to the circumstances, the audience will meet the quintet.

This is a nice example of collaboration of Vilnius’ schools: Brave Noises unites the disciples of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LAMT), Vilnius Conservatoire and the Vilnius Collage. For the competition the group will present Mantvydas Pranulis’ composition Ballad for Apocalypse.

While still a student at the Karoliniškės School of Music the group’s leader and composer Mantvydas Pranulis became a winner of the Classic and Jazz competition and Juozas Pakalnis Young Performers’ Competition. Currently, he studies at the Vilnius Conservatoire.

Mantvydas has performed his music with his M.P. Quintet, took part in Music in Space project with a young composers’ contemporary music ensemble, together with young composers he appeared in interactions Angels and Mirror.

In addition, he played in Kęstutis Vaiginis’ Jazz Gang, group The Jam Fam, MIDI rock operas, several social artistic actions, appeared in Kaunas Jazz, Flora Jazz and Bad Bramsted Jazz festivals with the Vilnius Conservatoire and Magic Time big bands (led by Eugenijus Vedeckas).

This year Mantvydas formed Brave Noises sextet for which he composes and arranges. In the 10th Vilnius Jazz Young Power competition the leader of the sextet was voted the best instrumentalist.

Kazimieras Jušinskas started his music studies at the Alytus Music School, played in Alytus Youth Symphony Orchestra; was a winner of Juozas Pakalnis Competition. Infected with jazz, the saxophonist furthered his studies at the Vilnius Conservatoire, was a member of Magic Time and the Conservatoire Big Band, took part in MIDI rock opera. Currently, he studies at the LAMT, plays in the LAMT Big Band.

Mindaugas Stumbras studies guitar at the Vilnius Conservatoire. He has appeared in various music projects including Tribute to The Doors, collaborated with Nostrum and Mood Line, was invited to Romualdas Milašius’ Quintet. Presently, in addition to Brave Noises sextet he works with his own quartet.

Dominykas Žernys studies the bass guitar at the Vilnius College. He is a member of Magic Time Big Band (led by Eugenijus Vedeckas), toured in Germany with the Big Band’s chamber line-up, took part with two of his colleagues in Kaunas Jazz, and appeared with Nostrum in the Vilnius Jazz Young Power finals. Currently he focuses on Tribal Vibe quartet.

Domas Snarskis studies at the Vilnius Conservatoire, works with Magic Time and Conservatoire Big Band. The drummer was acknowledged at the Jazz Fountain and the 5th Lithuanian Young Jazz Soloist and Ensemble Competition.
