Kazimieras Jušinskas - sax
This improvised music duo is in its third year. Its members are fellow students who have completed their Master studies in contemporary music and improvisation at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LAMT) and belong to the Improdimensija movement, which inspired the rise of improvised music in Lithuania.
The partners play in the Improdimensija orchestra, have appeared in the Improdimensija series at MAMA Studios, to which the brightest Lithuanian and foreign improvised music stars are invited. The duo also performed at the experimental music festival in Trakų Vokė, at the Raseiniai Contemporary Music Festival, gave concerts in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Austria.
The electroacoustic project of two like-minded colleagues astounds with a wide palette of unconventionally produced sounds and surprising sonorities. K. Gikas, playing the turntable, and K. Jušinskas, manoeuvring his saxophone between acoustic and electronic sounds, fuse soft noise, interactive musical conversations, elegant melodic lines, glitch music, rhythmic loops and extreme extended performance techniques on both instruments.
Each of the duo’s performance is unique. Currently, the performers are trying to capture their spontaneous creations on their first album.
