Resourceful musicians with substantial stage experience formed the group with an unorthodox line-up especially for this competition. Each of them is actively involved in other projects, appears in festivals. For Vilnius Jazz Young Power competition the Quintet offers collectively written composition How Do You Say Dushna in Brooklyn Language?

Kazimieras Jušinskas started his music studies at the Alytus Music School, played in Alytus Youth Symphony Orchestra. He is a winner of Juozas Pakalnis Competition. Infected with jazz, the saxophonist furthered his studies at the Vilnius Conservatoire, was a member of Magic Time and the Conservatoire Big Band; took part in MIDI rock opera.

Currently, he studies at the LAMT; is a member of Džiazlaif, The Septet and Katarsis4 saxophone quartet. Expert of soprano and alto saxophones he took part in Vilnius Mama Jazz, Kaunas Jazz and Peronas Jazz festivals.

Dominykas Norkūnas started his music studies at the Ąžuoliukas School of Music, later continued his education in the Rhythmic Music Department at the University of Applied Sciences, as an “Erasmus” student honed his skills in the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg (Denmark). This year the guitarist graduated from the LAMT, where he earned Master Degree in contemporary music and free improvisation.

Dominykas plays not only jazz, but also pop-, rock and country music, takes part in various festivals and collaborates with actors.

Aurelijus Užameckis is a representative of jazz and classical music scenes. He is a winner of national competitions. He has appeared in festivals on both platforms – Gaida, Be Stogo, Kaunas Jazz and Peronas Jazz.

The double bassist has honed his skills in master classes led by Petru Iuga, Wolfgang Harrer, Miloslav Jelínek and Božo Paradžik.

Currently, he studies at the University of Applied Sciences, is actively involved with jazz and improvised music projects, teams up with the artists from different fields. Together with Agata Langai ensemble he recorded an album Langai į.

For his virtuosity in Vilnius Jazz Young Power 2017 Užameckis was awarded prize for “Versatile Bass Vocabulary”, and also garnered Grand Prix with Džiazlaif.

After graduating from Balys Dvarionas Music School Simonas Kaupinis entered the LAMT, where he studies the tuba. As an exchange student he honed his skills in Gioachino Rossini Conservatoire in Italy. Currently, he pursues Master Degree in contemporary music and improvisation at the LAMT.

The tuba player takes part in jazz and academic music festivals in Lithuania and abroad.

Domantas Razmus earned Bachelor Degree in Jazz from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2017. Since 2012, he has regularly collaborated with renowned Lithuanian jazz masters and representatives of other genres including Dmitry Golovanov, Kęstutis Vaiginis, Vytis Nivinskas, Vytis Smolskus, Arman Isojan and Klaudijus Štuopinis.

In 2012, as a member of R.A.D.D. Razmus won Grand Prix at the Vilnius Jazz Young Power competition, and in 2016 claimed the same award with TDT. In 2017, he garnered first prize at the Tamsta Drumday competition. In 2016, he joined Cinamon jazz quintet with which he performed in Lithuania and Germany.

The drummer has accumulated an extremely wide pool of expression means. His vocabulary includes elements of pop, funk and fusion, traditional jazz, hard rock and punk rock. Occasionally he tries his hand in avant-garde and free jazz experiments.
