The group formed prior to the competition. Considerably experienced on stage, its members, the graduates of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LAMT), are also recipients of coveted awards. In the finals, the Trio will perform RS L 250, a collectively written composition.

Trumpeter Mantvydas Pranulis is one of the most ingenious Lithuanian jazz musicians of his generation. In Vilnius Jazz Young Power 2015 he was voted the best instrumentalist and garnered Grand Prix with his group Brave Noises.

With this group Pranulis toured in Germany, Poland, Great Britain, Latvia and Estonia. Last year they released a debut album, which earned recognition not only in Lithuania, but also abroad.

In 2017, together with Allergy+, his other group, Mantvydas won the Jazz Talents competition in Klaipėda Jazz festival.

Pranulis initiated a number of jazz and alternative music projects. He has performed in MIDI rock operas and social artistic actions, took part in young composers’ projects. He has shared the stage with many a Lithuanian and international jazz and alternative music star including Kenny Wollesen, William Shore, Johnattan Haffner, Jonas Mekas, Juozas Milašius, Dalius Naujokaitis, Nina Guo, Kęstutis Vaiginis and Simonas Šipavičius.

As a composer, Pranulis enjoys collaboration with theatre and film directors. He composed music for Karolina Žernytė’s theatre production Pirmapradis, Kamilė Gudmonaitė’s Dvi korėjos, works with “Stalo teatras” (Table Theatre). Mantvydas composed soundtrack to Kamilė Milašiūtė’s short film Motinos diena (Mother’s Day), a recipient of “Sidabrinė gervė” Award.

Dominykas Norkūnas started his music studies at the Ąžuoliukas School of Music, later continued his education in the Rhythmic Music Department at the University of Applied Sciences, as an “Erasmus” student honed his skills in the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg (Denmark). This year the guitarist graduated from the LAMT, where he earned Master Degree in contemporary music and free improvisation.

Dominykas plays not only jazz, but also pop-, rock and country music, takes part in various festivals and collaborates with actors.

Last year Ignas Kasikauskas has captured VJYP Grand Prix with Džiazlaif. He is at home in a wide range of music – from pop to free jazz.

Ignas has collaborated with many a renowned jazz performer including Arkady Gotesman, Eugenijus Kanevičius, Tomas Razmus and Arnas Mikalkėnas. He appeared in Vilnius Mama Jazz, Kaunas Jazz, Peronas Jazz, Saulkrasti Jazz Festival and Roma Summer Jazz Festival, toured in Italy, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, Russia and other countries.

Even though he started drumming only in his teens, he felt that this is his calling right away. He studied the drums at the Vilnius Conservatoire and also the LAMT. In addition, the drummer has taken part in master classes in Italy, Denmark and Finland.
