The Sextet made its debut in and became the winner of Vilnius Jazz Young Power 2015. The initial line-up has changed and this year different musicians appear in the baritone saxophone and bass guitar positions.

A group of young, innovative and resourceful musicians play original music overstepping the limits of one style. The versatile improvisers feel at home in a wide range of vocabulary from free jazz and world music to alternative rock.

At the moment the group presents its debut album Between the Dreams, which earned interest not only at home but also abroad.

The group’s leader and composer Mantvydas Pranulis initiated a number of jazz and alternative music projects. He has performed his music with his M.P. Quintet, took part in Music in Space project with a young composers’ contemporary music ensemble, together with young composers he appeared in interactions Angels and Mirror.

In addition, the keyboardist played in Kęstutis Vaiginis’ Jazz Gang, group The Jam Fam, MIDI rock operas, several social artistic actions, appeared in Kaunas Jazz, Flora Jazz and Bad Bramsted Jazz festivals with the Vilnius Conservatoire and Magic Time big bands (led by Eugenijus Vedeckas).

While still a student at the Karoliniškės School of Music Pranulis became a winner of the Classic and Jazz competition and Juozas Pakalnis Young Performers’ Competition. In the 10th Vilnius Jazz Young Power competition he was voted the best instrumentalist. In 2017, together with Allergy+ he won the Jazz Talents competition in Klaipėda Jazz festival.

Pranulis enjoys collaboration with theatre and film directors. He composed music for Karolina Žernytė’s theatre production Pirmapradis, works with “Stalo teatras” (Table Theatre), composed soundtrack to Kamilė Milašiūtė’s short film Motinos diena (Mother’s Day).

Mindaugas Stumbras studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. He is the founder of MS Ensemble, plays jazz and contemporary music.

The guitarist has appeared in various music projects including Tribute to The Doors, collaborated with Nostrum and Mood Line, as well as Romualdas Milašius’ Quintet. He took part in a number of jazz festivals in Lithuania and abroad, collaborated with such virtuosos as Kenny Wollesen, Tommy Smith, Alyn Cosker, Kevin Mackenzie, Fergus McCreadie, Peter Smrdel, Salvador Olmos and Moreno Maugliani.

Stumbras is a winner of Gitarų šėlsmas (Guitar Riot) competition.

Kazimieras Jušinskas started his music studies at the Alytus Music School, played in Alytus Youth Symphony Orchestra; was a winner of Juozas Pakalnis Competition. Infected with jazz, the saxophonist furthered his studies at the Vilnius Conservatoire, was a member of Magic Time and the Conservatoire Big Band, took part in MIDI rock opera.

Currently, he studies at the LAMT; is a member of Džiazlaif, The Septet and Katarsis4 saxophone quartet. Expert of soprano and alto saxophones he took part in Vilnius Mama Jazz, Kaunas Jazz and Peronas Jazz.

Arminas Bižys is a winner of Juozas Pakalnis Competition. He started his music education at the Vilnius Conservatoire. Currently, he studies at the LAMT.

Playing baritone and alto saxophones the musician collaborates with diverse formations. He is a member of Katarsis4 saxophone quartet, Džiazlaif, Miško Gyventojai, Syneasthesis contemporary music ensemble, and the Lithuanian Interior Ministry Representative Wind Orchestra.

Ernest Germanovič is one of Lithuania’s most promising young performers. In 2016, the bassist captured second prize in the International Contest of Young Jazz Performers in Russia.

Germanovič collaborates with Lithuanian jazz masters and young talents as well as various pop music representatives. He free-lances in recording studios. He has appeared with Liūdni slibinai, Jazz Brothers, Da’Frontin, M.P Quintet, The Jam Fam, Joy Spring Quintet, Pinigai, The Magic Time Big Band and Joy gospel choir.

The bassist took part in many international festivals including Kaunas Jazz, Vilnius Jazz, Džiazo fontanas, Tamsta, Birštonas and Nida jazz festivals, Rainbow Jazz in Estonia, Bad Bramstedt Jazz in Germany, RUM in Sweden.

Currently, he seeks Master Degree at the LAMT.

Domas Snarskis had a successful appearance on Vilnius Young Jazz Power stage with SIN trio, was acknowledged at the Jazz Fountain and the 5th Lithuanian Young Jazz Soloist and Ensemble Competition.

The drummer graduated from the Vilnius Conservatoire, worked with Magic Time and Conservatoire Big Band, took part in interdisciplinary performances and educational projects in Lithuania and Russia. Currently, he studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, where he is also a member of youth jazz orchestra.
