Mantvydas Pranulis - tp, keyb
This group is a fruit of Vilnius Jazz Young Power. This event prompted young performers to team up on stage and showcase their outlook to jazz and composition.
For the competition the group will present Mantvydas Pranulis’ composition Upward and his standard arrangement.
Trumpeter and keyboardist Mantvydas Pranulis got fascinated with jazz when he was twelve. While still a student at the Karoliniškės School of Music he became a winner at the Classic and Jazz competition. Currently, he studies at the Vilnius Conservatoire.
Mantvydas Pranulis has performed his music with his M.P. Quintet, took part in Music in Space project with a young composers’ contemporary music ensemble, together with young composers appeared in interactions Angels and Mirror.
In addition, he played in Kęstutis Vaiginis’ Jazz Gang, group The Jam Fam, MIDI rock operas, several social artistic actions, appeared in Kaunas Jazz, Flora Jazz and Bad Bramsted Jazz festivals with the Vilnius Conservatoire and Magic Time big bands (led by Eugenijus Vedeckas).
Mindaugas Stumbras studies guitar at the Vilnius Conservatoire. He has appeared in various music projects including Tribute to The Doors, was invited to Romualdas Milašius’ Quintet. Presently, in addition to Nostrum he plays in Mood Line.
Dominykas Žernys studies the bass guitar at the Vilnius College. He is a member of Magic Time Big Band (led by Eugenijus Vedeckas), toured in Germany with the Big Band’s chamber line-up, and took part with two of his colleagues in Kaunas Jazz.
Ignas Kasikauskas studies the percussion at the Vilnius Conservatoire. His interests span from hard rock to free jazz. The percussionist plays in several rock groups and the Vilnius Conservatoire Big Band, appears in TV projects.
