Yo-Yo Mo-Mo-Mo (Lithuania):
Simonas Šipavičius – sax ![]() Three members of the group have appeared in Vilnius Jazz Young Power 2009 with Yo-Yo Mo-Mo quartet. This year they are joined by a guitarist and a new drummer. The Quintet present S. Šipavičius’ Gang Renn. Simonas Šipavičius studied saxophone at the School of Arts in Kretinga and Stasys Šimkus Conservatoire in Klaipėda. Currently, he furthers his education under assistant Professor Petras Vyšniauskas in the Jazz Department at the LAMT. The saxophonist has appeared in several projects in Vilnius Mama Jazz and Birštonas Jazz festivals, took part in Vilnius Jazz Young Power in the past. He is a five-time winner of J. Pakalnis Wind Instrument Competition. Gediminas Gefenas studied piano at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Art, where he got interested in jazz in the last grade. Currently, he studies jazz piano under assistant Professor Artūras Anusauskas at the LAMT. In Vilnius Jazz Young Power 2009, the pianist was voted the composer of the most intriguing composition, and in the same year became a prize-winner of the International Jazz Improvisation Competition organised by the LAMT. Paulius Vaškas graduated from Juozas Tallat-Kelpša Conservatoire, and currently furthers his education at the LAMT where he studies electric guitar under Jaroslavas Cechanovičius. Domas Žostautas studied popular music at the Vilnius College of Higher Education, and currently furthers his education under Vytis Nivinskas in the Jazz Department at the LAMT. The bassist takes part in jazz, rock and pop music projects, is a member of Tomas Leiburas Orchestra and group Black Coffee. With various formations he appeared in Vilnius Jazz, Birštonas Jazz, Nida and Daugavpils (Latvia) jazz festivals. Jonas Lengvinas studies under Darius Rudis at the LAMT.
